Till 1992 there were only card catalogues describing the Library holdings.

The alphabetic books catalogue of the Institute of Astronomy Library covers only the publications, which were acquired by the Library before 1992. The catalogue card gives information about the book author, title, place and year of publication. The call number indicates the place, where the document is stored.

The alphabetic periodicals catalogue of the Institute of Astronomy Library gives information about serials, which you can find in the Library holdings. The catalogue card informs about the title, year of publication and periodical volume.

The subject catalogue of the Institute of Astronomy Library describes only books, acquired by the Library before 1992. The Library holdings are divided into sections and subsections, according to which the documents are arranged on the shelves. The arrangement of all sections is available in the Reading Room.

The electronic catalogue of the Institute of Astronomy Library is available in the ISIS system. It is the only catalogue describing books and periodicals acquired by the Library after 1992. It provides access in the local network. The document description contains the author/authors, title, subtitle, place of publication, year of publication, publisher, format, number of pages, number of illustrations, volumes, series name and series numeration, additional information and subject description according to sections and subsections.
