A book is not like a journal, the source of current information, because the cycle of book publication is very long (sometimes it lasts more than one year) but its content is richer, well elaborated by authors, organised and sometimes with additional short abstract (bibliography, references) or indexes. When searching for information students at once borrow books, because they think they will find there all materials they need, and it is not the best method. You have to remember of variety of information sources, especially within science.
