Alicja Saar-Kozłowska

Alicja Saar-Kozłołowska - art historian, museologist, since 1983 lecturer on the Nicholas Copernicus University in Torun in Poland at the Department of Museology, Institute for Study, Restoration and Conservation of Cultural Heritage of the Faculty of Fine Arts, member of Associations of Art Historians in Poland and ICIMS;

• in the year 1996 was given the Medal of Polar Star from His Mayesty the King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf as the acknowledgement of research on Vasa Family in Poland and Sweden;
• lessons on history of modern art in Europe and in Poland, especially history and technique of sculpture, arranging of museum exhibitions, history of artistic doctrines;
• preparing dissertation on subject A burial monument of Anna Vasa. The history, symbolic meaning and the problems of conservation and preservation;
• the special field of scientific research is the biography of Anna Vasa (1568-1625, buried in Toruń), daughter of king Johan the III of Sewden and the polish royal princes Catherine Jagellonica, granddaughter of Gustav Vasa I and Sigismund The Old and Bona Sforza, en extraordinary woman in the early modern times, mainly interested in botany and phytotherapy, who by herself prepared medicines and ran a chemist`s shop for her subjects, the protector of ill and poor persons;
