Linked Heritage (2011-2013)
The Linked Heritage project is being carried out with the purpose of collecting as large as possible number of new objects for the Europeana (European Digital Library) from both private and public owners (i.e. public institutions). One of the high priorities of the given project is to enrich metadata of the objects.
In the course of 30-month implementation of the project it is also expected to resolve the problems concerning:
- non-standardized terminology applied to the descriptions of the objects in the Europeana,
- shortage of the objects from private sources and the ones from the 20th century in the collection of the Europeana,
- too complicated models of metadata within the model of the Europeana data.
The project is being developed by the consortium involving institutions from 20 EU member states as well as from the Russian Federation and Israel.
More information on the Linked Heritage project can be found on the website http://www.linkedheritage.org/.
The project is partially funded by the Government of Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship.
