Athena Plus
The Athena Plus project has been conceived as a continuation of the Athena project (2008-2011). Consequently, its objective is to keep inviting museums and other cultural institutions to cooperate with the European Digital Library of Europeana and support it with the content and within the undertakings involving:
- enhancement of the content of Europeana metadata with 3,8m new records,
- preparation of and testing new tools for data aggregation for Europeana,
- further works on IPR,
- further works on terminology set (thesaurus from the HEREIN project with vocabulary within the scope of archeology and architecture),
- virtual exhibitions – preparation of software and exhibitions,
- testing pilot solutions and connecting users,
- 2 issues of the periodical “Uncommon Culture”.
The project is being carried out by 41 partners from the EU, the Israel Museum from Jerusalem, and the Centre of Informatization in the Sphere of Culture (Centre PIC) from the Russian Federation. The Council of Europe pays the role of observer.
